ELECTION 2014 @ THIRUVANMYUR



CANDIDATE – TKS ELANGOVAN 

T. K. S. Elangovan, Thanjavur is a member of parliament in India. He is also the Organisation Secretary of DMK. He is the son of Late Mr TK Srinivasan also popularly known as Thathuva Medhai TK Srinivas.He was actively participating in politics since school days. He became the Organisation Secretary of DMK after quitting his job. He was elected Member of Parliament in May 2009.Elangovan is the eldest son of Thathuva Medhai TK Srinivasan and Saraswathi Srinivasan. He moved to Chennai in 1962 with is family. After completing his post graduation he went to USA to continue his studies. He later came back to India and worked in Indian Overseas Bank, where he met his wife M G Nalini, who happened to be his colleague and got married on 23 January 1984.
 Karunanidhi will launch campaign on Wednesday, canvassing votes for his party's candidates for three constituencies -- former Union minister Dayanidhi Maran (Chennai Central), T K S Elangovan (Chennai South) and R Girirajan (Chennai North) -- in Chepauk, a party release said. He addressed an election rally in Chennai, campaigned along with Karunanidhi in many various events and functions. And was the chief guest of many functions. He Addressed many rural areas offering them reliable electricity and water supply.

CANDIDATE – LA GANESAN

    LA GANESAN is an Indian politician and senior leader of BJP. He is at present the party’s National Council Member, and has served the party in various capacitites. He then served as the National Secretary and then as the Vice President of BJP at the national level. Later he was selected as the President of BJP's Tamil Nadu state unit.
  
         Last week, when campaign picked up pace in the city, the BJP’S. LA GANESAN had campaigned on a finishing boat at Uthandi, targeting large apartment complexes. There is intense focus from the national leadership on Tamil Nadu in reaching every nook and corner and this is his  campaign objective. The tour managers of the leaders were also working out options on alliance party leaders sharing the dais with those from the BJP," said LA Ganesan.
    He said led government after the polls will be sensitive to the issues concerning Tamil Nadu and its people-- such as industrialisation and employment besides the Sri Lankan Tamils issue and instances of attacks on Indian fishermen by the Lankan navy
